Back To School 2026

For many people, summer is a season to slow down, take a vacation, and enjoy a well-earned break. But for refugees, life does not pause with the changing seasons.

As summer comes to an end, refugee families are once again sending their children back to the makeshift schools available to them. These schools provide just three hours of instruction each day, with limited subjects and resources. Families are deeply grateful for the opportunity for their children to learn, yet the reality is sobering: this education does not lead to a diploma or provide a clear pathway toward a future career.

For the families we serve, there is no summer break from hardship and there is no renewed sense of hope simply because their children are returning to school. Their challenges continue every day, and so does our work.

We are grateful to continue walking alongside these families, meeting practical needs, encouraging their children and offering whatever little bit of hope that we can. This is exactly why we exist, and we are honored to be there for them every day.

As we update you on the families we serve around the world, we wish we had encouraging news to share. Unfortunately, conditions have continued to worsen in many of the countries where we minister, including Jordan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Syria, and Lebanon. Conflict, displacement, persecution, and economic hardship continue to create urgent needs for vulnerable families.

Our teams on the ground faithfully report these situations as they unfold, allowing us to carefully evaluate each request for assistance and respond wherever possible. These growing challenges only strengthen our commitment to reaching those who need hope, practical support, and the reminder that they are not forgotten.

During the end of this summer season, when life may feel a little slower for many, we want to pause to thank our faithful partners. Thank you for standing with families who have endured violence, loss, forced displacement, and ongoing persecution. Through your prayers and generous financial support, you help provide food, safe shelter, and compassionate care. More importantly, you remind those we serve that they are seen, loved, and never alone.
